Make every discussion useful.
Respect people
No harassment, threats, hate, explicit content, spam, or sharing someone’s private information. Disagree constructively and use Report when something needs staff attention.
Give the full picture
Include vehicle make, model, year and trim; comma device; software project, branch and version; and what happened versus what you expected. A make flair is context, not proof of compatibility.
Keep the driver in the loop
Do not encourage distracted or unattended driving, bypassing driver monitoring, or defeating safety constraints. Describe issues from existing observations; do not recreate hazardous behavior for a forum post. Configure devices while parked.
Protect privacy and ownership
Review route links, location traces, cabin video and logs before sharing. Never post tokens, SSH keys, passwords or other people’s data. Share only files and material you have permission to distribute. Link to maintained software releases instead of uploading installers.
Keep knowledge organized
Use discussions for questions and experiences, and guides for instructional drafts. Credit original contributors and link sources. Forks are independent projects; advice about one branch may not apply to another.
Moderation
Staff may review, hide or lock content and apply account restrictions with recorded reasons. Staff badges and forum permissions are separate. This community is independently operated and is not an official comma.ai support channel.
Community hosting & responsibility disclaimer
openpilot community is independently community-driven, community-operated, and community-hosted. This website, its owner, and its hosting operator have no affiliation, partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement relationship with comma.ai or comma. This is not an official comma support service. Product names, links to official resources, and participation by individual company employees do not imply an affiliation.
This website provides an alternative to Discord: a searchable home for community discussions, guides, and shared experiences that makes information easier to find and revisit.
Availability, outages, and rollbacks
The website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Outages, maintenance, interruptions, and rollbacks to earlier backups may happen. A rollback may remove recent posts, uploads, messages, or account changes. Backups reduce risk but do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that every change can be recovered. Keep your own copies of important information and files.
Use information at your own risk
Posts, guides, files, and linked resources are shared for general informational purposes. They may be incomplete, incorrect, outdated, or unsuitable for your vehicle, hardware, or software. Hosting, moderation, publication, or a staff badge does not certify their accuracy or safety. You are responsible for verifying information and for any decisions, installations, modifications, or driving actions you take.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website owner, hosting operator, administrators, and moderators disclaim liability for accidents, injury, death, vehicle or other property damage, data loss, financial loss, or any other loss or harm arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to access this website, its content, downloads, or linked resources. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Driver-assistance systems do not replace an attentive driver. Follow applicable laws and official instructions for your exact vehicle and device, remain responsible for safe operation, and seek qualified assistance when needed. Never use forum advice as a reason to bypass safety protections.
